NAME: ADAM HANES
AGE: 30
STARTING WEIGHT: 400 LBS
CURRENT WEIGHT: 232 LBS
I have always been a big guy tipping the scales at nearly 300 pounds by my senior year of high school. But after getting sick and basically unable to do anything for 5 years I ballooned up to over 400 lbs. However after having over 300 gall stones and going into kidney and liver failure as well as pancreatitis and multiple other problems, I had the surgery to remove my gall bladder.
And after realizing I was going to live to my 30th birthday I knew I was going to change my life for the better.
I started eating healthier. At first since I wasn’t able to do any kind of exercise the first 3 months. But once I started working out and eating the right fruits, vegetables, grains and lean meats along with working out 5 days a week, the weight starting melting off and I started training again in Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
After 2 years and 125 pounds lost I went into a major plateau and couldn’t lose an ounce no matter how much I worked out or how perfect my calorie intake was so I started “The Dolce Diet.”
Ever since I started I have dropped another 43 pounds, and still going pretty steadily, and down to about 17% body fat, minus a good amount of excess skin which I plan on getting removed by this summer. My goal is to be in the best shape I could possibly be in as well as the best healthy lifestyle advocate that I can be. And at the rate Im going I will get there in a few short months!! Along with my healthy lifestyle, since my surgery I have found a career that I love as an EMT as well as found a beautiful woman who I will be marrying in 6 months. Thank you, Mike!
